I found this lovely little program called WinSnap. It is a small utility for Windows PCs that lets you take and edit screenshots with ease. Needless to say, its way better than the standard Windows Print Screen. You can change colour settings, apply shadows, contour and watermark to all your captured screens. It also lets you rotate and scale the images. You can take various types of screenshots with it including full screen, windows, client area, application, popup menus and regions. The only thing thats missing is the ability to capture scrolling web pages. If you desperately need that functionality, you’ll need to get SnagIt which is without a doubt the best screenshot utility available currently. However, be ready to shell out $39.95 if you decide to go for it. If you can live with a few missing features, WinSnap is a recommended download. What’s more its completely FREE for personal, educational and non-commercial use!

Finally, the wait is over and Apple took the covers off their new gadget aptly named as the iPhone. As with any other Apple technology, the iPhone has class written all over it. The iPhone combines three products — a revolutionary mobile phone, a wide screen iPod and a breakthrough internet communication device. Its a small and lightweight hand held device which allows email, web browsing and searching. The iPhone houses an entirely new user interface based on a large touch screen display and software which lets you control everything with your fingers. The device will be powered by Apple’s own OS X.

If some of you were wondering what I have been doing for the last year and half or so or what was the reason for lack of updates on my previous website, you’ll have your answers today. Right after the launch of my earlier website, me and some of my friends got together discussing the possibilities of a technology community and website. There were not too many technology related websites in India as computers and related technologies were rather new in these parts of the world. There was no one to guide the technology enthusiasts.

I’ve added a new Comics section and a new Photo Gallery section to this website. The comics will be dynamically updated every day. Currently there are very few photos in the gallery but I’ll post more and more photos as days go by. The website is currently undergoing constant development and you will see a lot more features and changes in the coming weeks. Till then just enjoy the new additions.

I was as excited as the other users when BSNL announced last month that its going to come up with free 2mbps upgrades for all its 256kbps broadband users. Though 256kbps can’t really be classified as real broadband but we in India have to live with it owing to pathetic state of internet and networking infrastructure. It came as a pleasant surprise when Mr. Dayanidhi Maran, Hon’ble Union Minister of Communications and Information Technology disclosed his plans for broadband users in this country. He termed the year 2007 as “Year of Broadband”. There is no doubt that he is willing to correct all communication shortcomings and put India in the league of developed nations like USA, UK and Japan.
