Firefox has been the browser of choice for quite a lot of regular internet users. In fact, it has been the only browser in a decade or so to be able to successfully challenge the might of Microsoft Internet Explorer. Its gradually eating away the market share of the world’s most popular web browser since its inception. According to a recently concluded study, as of December 2007, the market share of Firefox in Europe is close to 28%, which is quite substantial.

F1 Turkish GP 2008

Sorry again for a delayed review as if its become a custom lately. I’ve my set of genuine reasons or excuses, tough. As usual, I was busy with some personal work and my internet connection stopped working all of a sudden. The connection was off for an entire week due to a fibre optic failure, as informed by my ISP. Anyway, let’s start with the review for Turkish Grand Prix 2008. We had a fair idea of what the result was going to be like but Felipe Massa opted to throw in a early warning to his rivals. Ferrari and McLaren both looked in good touch.

F1 Spanish GP 2008

Spain witnessed another perfect weekend for Ferrari as they registered their second 1-2 finish of the season. This time though, it was Kimi Raikkonen who lead his team mate, Felipe Massa to the finishing line in what could be described as a dominating performance from the Scuderia. The results may not reflect that very fact, all thanks to multiple Safety Car interference during the race, but the Ferraris controlled the rest of the field with remarkable ease. Kimi looked like the man to beat from the start of the weekend and he rounded it off with a fantastic win and retained his lead in the World Championship.

F1 Bahrain GP 2008

First of all, my apologies for a delayed review. This last week and the one before that has been too hectic for me to write a review. Now that I’ve found a bit of space for myself, I’m here with a short review of the Bahrain Grand Prix 2008 which was held on 6th of April 2008. In few words, the race can be described as ecstasy for Ferrari and agony for McLaren. Ferrari were easily the best team out there and the team registered there first 1-2 of the season led by Felipe Massa.

F1 Malaysian GP 2008

Kimi Raikkonen is back and in style. His dominating display in Malaysian Grand Prix is just what the Tifosi has been expecting. Starting from 2nd on the grid, he made a superb start but still let his team-mate, Felipe Massa retain the lead through first few corners. The clever Finn made sure he stays within a second and a half by the time they make their first pit-stops. Once Massa came in, Kimi delivered a couple of astonishing laps. A shorter pit-stop for Kimi made sure he jumped his team-mate once he came out of the pits. He opened up a gap of about 5 seconds to second place Massa within a few laps.

F1 Australian GP 2008

Every team arrived in Australia without knowing what to expect but determined to give their very best in the season opener. This, afterall, could lay the foundation on which the teams will progress throughout the rest of the season. This season is a big one in itself and with 17 races to go after this, everyone was sure of wiping out the incompetencies, if any. This one was set to break many illusions developed during the winter testing but a failure here in no way means the end of the world.

Dell E198WFP

I’ve recently bought a new Wide-Screen LCD monitor for myself. After consultation with my friends and reading a few reviews online, I finally settled for the Dell E198WFP monitor. It being a TN panel, I never had any high expectations from it but switching from an old 15″ Samsung Samtron CRT monitor to a 19″ WS LCD monitor is an achievement in itself. It cost me Rs. 13500.oo including shipping/handling and a cool 5-year warranty. Needless to say, I was pretty impressed with it from the very first day itself and I’m still loving every bit of it after 5 months. Given below are the excerpts from the review that I’ve posted long back at TechEnclave. You’ll still need to visit the TechEnclave Forums to read the complete review.

bishnupur_14

I’ve recently made a trip to Bishnupur with a friend of mine. The journey both ways was by train and we had an adventurous yet exciting time throughout the tour. Bishnupur (or Vishnupur) in the Bankura district is like a breath of fresh air after Kolkata’s heat and dust. The verdant fields you traverse to get to this town, just 151 km away, serve as a harbinger of the surprise that is Bishnupur. This town of terracotta temples and man-made lakes echoes with the history of the Malla rulers who made it their 16th century capital.
