Lewis Hamilton, the McLaren rookie has done it yet again. He takes the first back to back win of his career which, impressively, is just 7 races old. On his way to victory, he soaked up immense amount of pressure from his team mate and two times world champion, Fernando Alonso. Alonso crossed the finishing line in 2nd place, just one and a half seconds off Lewis’s time. The United States Grand Prix 2007 witnessed many highlights and turned out to be one of the best races this season. Sebastian Vettel replaced Robert Kubica for this race.

The Grand Prix of Canada could easily be described as the best race so far this season. Agreed, it was chaotic but it provided all of us with much needed fun. An incident packed race finally saw the emergence of a new winner in Formula 1, Lewis Hamilton. Amongst all the drama that was going on, he drove a flawless race! There was not a single moment of boredom during the one and half hours which was extended a bit by the inclusion of as many as four safety car periods. In between all the chaos, BMW’s Robert Kubica survived a near fatal crash, the most horrific in recent memory.

Yet another race and yet another delayed review. Well, I apologize once again but I’m really very busy with my study schedules. Anyways, I thought this is the right time to push this one through before the start of next Grand Prix which by the way, will take place tonight! Fernando Alonso capitalized on his expertise and registered another race victory to his name. His young rookie team mate, Lewis Hamilton finished a close second as the entire racing fraternity witnessed McLaren decimating their opposition ruthlessly.

A different race but the same winner. Felipe Massa secured his third consecutive pole position and back to back win to firmly establish himself as a serious title contender. Felipe hardly put a foot wrong as he crossed the finishing line about 7 seconds clear of second place man, Lewis Hamilton. Ferrari still retains 100% success rate in all 2007 qualifying events.
Fernando Alonso threw away his superb start when he decided to take a shortcut across the gravel traps after a minor collision with Massa at the start of the Grand Prix. Alonso, however recovered from the mishap and was able to rejoin the race at 4th place. An electrical failure for Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen after 7 laps into the race ensured Alonso the final podium place.

It’s almost a month now and I know its too late for a review but I have an excuse. I was really very busy with my college assignments to be able to write any review. I will however, try and give a small account on what happened at the 2007 Bahrain Grand Prix. I’ll try to keep it as limited as possible giving out just the major details and factors which unfolded that weekend.

First of all I apologise for delay in posting this review. As you know, I was away for a while and it took me some time to resume normal activities. I’ll be posting pictures from my trip soon here at this website but for that you’ll have to wait. Coming back to the Malaysian Grand Prix 2007, it had everything in it to be exciting yet it turned out to be somewhat boring. The eventual race winner, Fernando Alonso drove a lonely and clinical race. He was well supported by his McLaren team mate, Lewis Hamilton. Lewis is fast turning into a young superstar and is the one to watch out for in near future.

I’ll be out on well deserved holidays for the entire next week. I’ll be back on 6th of April 2007. As you can expect, there will be no updates or blog posts during this time. I had planned a week by week review of all World Cup matches but unfortunately, there won’t be any review this week. However, there’s no reason to be disappointed just yet as I’ll be posting a grand review of the entire Super 8 stage once I return from my trip.

The 2007 Formula 1 season started off in grand style with Saturday’s Qualifying session. The format for the session was unchanged from last season. The session, divided into three parts saw Kimi taking the first one convincingly before Alonso made the second his own. The final part was dominated by Raikkonen who finished it off with a pole position time of 1:26.072, a full four tenths faster than Alonso who secured the second place in the grid. the next row was filled up by BMW’s Nick Heidfeld and Alonso’s rookie team-mate, Lewis Hamilton. Kimi’s team-mate Massa had a disastrous time as he failed to reach the third part of qualifying when his Ferrari came to a halt due to a gear box problem.
